AICF

Follow these steps in order. Starting early gives your child a significant advantage, many spots fill fast.

   Register with your state chess association — this is the entry point, not AICF directly.

2. 2

   Obtain your AICF registration / player ID through that association.

3. 3

   Enter a school or district-level AICF-rated event to earn a first national rating.

4. 4

   A FIDE ID is issued automatically the first time you play a FIDE-rated event; the organiser usually handles this for first-timers.

Prepare these before the tournament entry deadline. Missing documents result in rejection.

• Birth certificate or Aadhaar card — for age-category verification
• Recent passport-size photographs
• State chess association registration confirmation
• Parent / guardian consent — for players under 18
• Entry fee payment proof as specified in the tournament circular
