Badminton Association of India
New Delhi · Est. 1934
Follow these steps in order. Starting early gives your child a significant advantage — many spots fill fast.
Identify your State Badminton Association — every Indian state has a BAI-affiliated body (e.g. Karnataka Badminton Association).
Apply for state-association membership and a BAI-ID with proof of age, passport-size photographs, and the membership fee (varies by state).
Compete in state-level ranking tournaments and trials — this is how most state associations select who they nominate for national events.
Watch for your state association's nomination announcement ahead of each BAI National Ranking Tournament or Championship.
Once nominated, complete entry formalities through your state association before the deadline listed in the tournament circular on badmintonindia.org.
Prepare the required documents (below) ahead of the event, since national-level draws are typically finalised 1–2 weeks before play begins.
Prepare these before the tournament entry deadline — missing documents result in rejection.
